Welcome to the Hockey Ireland learning zone! Umpiring is a huge part of hockey and provides great opportunities to develop your skills, progress through the umpiring grades all while giving something back to the sport you love. 

There are opportunities for everyone to umpire, whether it be on the international stage, or at your local club. Whatever your aspirations, you will get help and support from Hockey Ireland, your provincial umpiring association and the Irish Hockey Umpires Association (IHUA).  As a new or inexperienced umpire, you should complete the online rules test below.
